Super Social Super Bowl … And the News Is?

Data news all over the place today about how many more social media posts there were around this Super Bowl compared with the previous one.

For instance, Mashable reports, “Super Bowl Social Media Activity 3 Times Higher Than 2012.”

Is this news anymore? Social is mainstream.

And 88% of that social activity came via mobile devices. Again, who watches football in front of a desktop?

Meanwhile Jeremiah Owyang digs through a trove of data to find that brands are integrating social like crazy (not surprising) and that hashtags and corporate URLs were in, Facebook out. (I oversimplify, but the trend exists.)
